http://goo.gl/maps/ry0B9 Aside from having record beating attendance, it boasts having over three million LEGO bricks and features several interactive play opportunities including hands-on play areas, a "4D"* cinema, master classes from LEGO Model Builders, LEGO rides, special party rooms and MINILAND®, and probably the most interesting to AFOLs the venue’s "miniland exhibit" features recreation of landmarks from the GTA and Ontario. http://www.torontolife.com/galleries/legoland-vaughan-mills-miniland#lego-land-toronto-intro However it does not allow adults to visit without children. Since its opening we (Brickfete) has been working with the LEGO Discovery Centre, to make it possible for our attendees to be able to access the display even if they do not have children. Today they sent me an email, agreeing to host an "Adult Only" 6pm-9pm time period on July 10th, the evening before our event. This date was picked to include many of the guests that have travelled so far for our event, without actually interfering with our event. We are letting you know so you can make alternate travel plans if you need to, to include touring the Discovery Centre. I, on behalf of Brickfete, would like to thank the LEGO Discovery Centre for inviting us. Your Brickfete I.D. will give you a $4 discount at the door off the regular price of $19. If you respond to this thread with your name, not nickname (before July 5th) I will let you pick up your ID at 5pm - 6pm on July 10th. Early ID pick up is only for those attending the "Adult Only" night at the LEGO Discovery Centre and only those that respond here. *some geeks may beg to differWin Expo Ticketshttp://brickfete.com/AFOL/thread/292For a chance to win 4 tickets for the LEGO EXPO all you have to do is... This forum doesnt have many rules, however due to the fact that Brickfete is a family event any comments that are vulgar, malicious or inappropriate will be deleted. Just an fyi, the "Announcement" thread creating ability has been reserved for the Brickfête Team so this is where you will hear (read) all the latest and greatest news. However... the rest of the sections are for your use. Start a new thread anytime! If you have a question for the Team, or about Brickfete in general, feel free to post them in "Brickfete Inquiries". Now, as some of your are new, please introduce yourself, and for some of your that are old... errr I mean a regular, please jump in for roll call.2013 Vendors and Sponsorshttp://brickfete.com/AFOL/thread/255We are in the process of removing lasts years data, and securing this years Vendors and Sponsors. The corner ad will stay empty until Feb 15 when our list is complete... but you can keep an eye on the sponsor and vendor pages as we finalize the lists. This year, even though we are increasing our space, we are decreasing the amount of vendor tables.2013 Techball Help Pleasehttp://brickfete.com/AFOL/thread/253We are looking for someone to host the Techball game this year, and it needs to be someone that does not already have a roll in volunteering. Please let me know if you are willing to volunteer. The game board is already built and will be provided. Rules are here http://www.brickfete.com/AFOL/event/techball We have played this game each year of Brickfete, and I would love to have it continue, however we need someone to run it. Sign up sheets will be provided, all you need to do is officiate the event, record the results and then update the computer with those results.2013 - MOC pagehttp://brickfete.com/AFOL/thread/252Its never too early to start to register your MOCS. All of last years displays have been deleted, and we are starting all over again. Any MOC larger than a grey (15") baseplate must be registered.2013 - We are growing...http://brickfete.com/AFOL/thread/247Last year our event had 10,000 square feet (plus the lobby space), which included our seating area. This year, we have 11,500 square feet of dedicated display space, and a separate area (all on the same floor) for our theatre seating (opening ceremonies, auction, etc.) for a total of 15,000 square feet!2013 Parkinghttp://brickfete.com/AFOL/thread/243Parking this year is not free. The Hilton charges 12 dollars per day, however, if you want, you can purchase reduced parking tickets from us at 5 dollars per day. If you are local and are making a bunch of deliveries of your MOCs or stock, be sure to keep your visit under 30 minutes and parking is free. As well, if you are a guest of the hotel, I believe your room key gets you out of the parking lot for free. So no worries for you!2013 Registrationhttp://brickfete.com/AFOL/thread/242Please note, we are now open for business, however there are a few things you should be aware of. We will be returning to the Hilton, however our hotel link is not ready, so do not attempt to book your hotel room yet. We will make an announcement once its ready. We will have 14,000 square feet vrs last years 10,000. Vending tables will be reduced and all vendors will be required to be at least a white brick sponsor.2113 Castle Display Contesthttp://brickfete.com/AFOL/thread/234While we finalize some details about the venue... I wanted to spread the good news. To "celebrate" the return of the Castle Line... LEGO will be picking a "Best in Castle" MOC at each of the major shows this year, including Brickfete. The winner will win a complete set of the new line... The five sets are 70400 Forest ambush 70401 Horse carriage getaway 70402 Gatehouse raid 70403 Dragon peak 70404 King's castle We are sure that the Castle builder that wins will appreciate these very much and this contest might just spark a new Castle builder or two.2012-2013http://brickfete.com/AFOL/thread/205The wrap up for 2012 has begun. I still have inventory to take, and we still have boxes to repack... however suggestions and ideas for next year are already pouring in and being looked at. If you have anything you want to share, please send us an email at admin@brickfete.com Also keep in mind, your ideas may be good, but we may not be able to use them all. For example, if we can not afford them, fit them in, or they may not fit with Brickfete's core objectives or values. However, we are listening, and we are working towards providing an event that we can enjoy and be proud of when we share it with other AFOL. Some rules have already changed. For example... we have reduced the number of vending tables for next year. Vending for 2013 will be by invite only, based on the needs of the event. Only sponsors ads will rotate on the top corner of the event. Those ads, instead of being random will be weighted depending on the level of sponsorship.Registration - Closedhttp://brickfete.com/AFOL/thread/17190 Full Registered Attendees plus 40 VIP 130 in total. They are designed to only take a few minutes or so to build, (although some could potentially take much longer depending on how involved you are going to get.) These are perfect things to enter if you have to travel by plane, or have a small collection, or are short on time, or just want something fun to do. Please note, that all the mini contest entries should not be put on our registered MOC pages!
